ABSTRACT
The formative evaluation of the relevance of higher education institutions, through its graduates, requires the application of models and methods to ensure the best possible information, not only quantitative, but also inputs to a critical analysis of context, conditions, circumstances, aspirations and needs of both college graduates as labor and social context, have the institutions of higher education. In this sense, it is pursued as one of the purposes of this work, presenting some contributions of the main authors who have addressed the evaluation processes of education, from the qualitative and quantitative approaches to evaluation, highlighting the utility of both paradigms, inquiry in a social, as are studies of graduates; which invites reflection on the relevance and usefulness of a systematic, descriptive, critical or evaluative but especially susceptible to analysis and inference of the social reality in which college graduates play methodology.
The investigation of evidence to determine the quality of training received in relation to the needs of social and labor context, are essential for the consolidation of strategies based on the institutions of higher education to contribute to the construction of a society more fair and equitable for everyone.
